It’s always great to see people going the extra mile to help out an animal, but this paddleboarder took going the “extra mile” to a whole new level when he rescued a stranded puppy from an island in the middle of a river.
The island was barely a yard wide and the tide was rising. If the paddleboarder had not arrived when he did, the puppy would have been swept away by the current in less than 10 minutes!
While how the puppy ended up in the middle the island is not known, we can imagine his last encounter with humans wasn’t a good one. Understandably, the puppy was absolutely terrified. Thankfully, after a matter of seconds, the puppy realized the paddleboarder was there to help him and calmed down.
We hope that once the pup was back on land, the kind man who found him brought him to a no-kill shelter so he could find a forever home!
