This is exciting! Plant-based restaurant, GreenSpace, founded by vegan cardiologist Joel Kahn (popularly known as America’s Heart Healthy Doc) has launched a new fast casual concept! GreenSpace & Go in the Royal Oak suburbs of Detroit is hosting a soft opening this week and will be fully open on April 9th. Woohoo!
GreenSpace & Go is owned by Joel and his wife, Karen Kahn. The new spot will offer up yummy vegan goodness such as, “bowls, wraps, salads, soups, smoothies, baked goods and more.”
GreenSpace & Go will also serve entrées such as the Endurance Bowl (broccoli falafel, cucumber, baby arugula, French lentils, garlic-roasted beets, and cashew tzatziki), and smoothies such as the Hemptation (banana, turmeric, vanilla, hemp seeds, ginger, carrot juice, and maca).
In a press release, GreenSpace & Go specifies all ingredients are, “sourced as wholly, sustainably and organically as possible and contain no GMOs or preservatives. Allergy-friendly gluten-, soy-, and nut-free options are available, as are oil-free and children’s menus.”
GreenSpace and the new sister restaurant, GreenSpace & Go, are the first midwest restaurants to have certificates from PlantPure‘s Communities Restaurant Campaign, an initiative that recognizes establishments that offer healthy, plant-based, and oil-free meals.
We are thrilled to see yet another restaurant offering healthy, sustainable, plant-based meals. And demand for plant-based food is up by 140 percent, so we’re not the least bit surprised to see another plant-based restaurant popping up!
As a vegan cardiologist, Dr. Kahn has long advocated for a plant-based diet. He has authored Dead Execs Don’t Get Bonuses and Your Whole Heart Solution. To learn more about the health benefits of a plant-based diet, visit Joel Kahn, MD’s website.
