How to Choose the Right Tea for Every Condition

Put simply, tea is the bomb diggity. Yeah, I said it. For those with a more sophisticated tongue: tea is excellent on all accounts. But either way you state it, tea rocks our world. Why? Because it’s delicious. There are so many varieties. And it can help cure the things that ail us, all while providing us with a comforting feeling and a nice, clean burst of energy (for the caffeinated varieties).

If you want to drink tea specifically for health purposes, then you’re in luck. There’s a tea out there that will work to combat almost anything that’s off kilter:

  • Have a Stomachache?

    Opt for chamomile. This tea will help reduce inflammation that may be going on inside.


  • Need a Burst of Inspiration?

    Feeling sluggish or mentally clouded? Try peppermint tea, which will give you a boost of clean energy and will awaken all of your senses quickly.


  • Got a Headache?

    Reach for cinnamon tea. Cinnamon has a variety of nutrients, such as manganese and iron, which will work on that head problem you have going on — stat. Plus, the smell of cinnamon is calming for many, which can help ease tension that may be causing you head pain.


  • Feeling Nauseous?

    Pick up some ginger tea. Ginger tea has been used medicinally for thousands of years to aim topsy-turvy stomachs the world over.


  • Have a Sore or Scratchy Throat?

    Sip a lemon tea. Lemon can help push out mucus that may be building in your throat. Add a plant-based sweetener like coconut nectar to balance the tea and coat the throat for one powerful throat-healing mixture.


  • Can't Sleep?

    Reach for a passionflower tea. This herb has light sedative qualities that will help you doze off quickly.


  • Have a Cough?

    If you’ve got a cough that won’t quit, try a thyme tea. The thyme will help reduce the movement going on in your bronchial tubes and ease the pain of a coughing fit or a cold.

For coughs I would also recommend Dandelion and mallow tea.
