Donna Sheron has always been a big animal person, so when she realized there were tons of geckos living in her backyard in Hawaii, she decided she wanted to get to know them better.
She started by putting out little pieces of fruit on her balcony railing, and the geckos seemed to love it. She wanted to find a way to feed multiple geckos at once and also give them a safe place to hang out, and that’s when she had the cutest idea.
@locketfairies So I’ve gotten many comments about how I need to make barstools for the tiki bar. While I agree, I did make them stools last year and they didn’t use them not once! #geckos #geckotikibar #tikibar #minitikibar

Sheron is also very crafty, so she used her skills to make a fruit stand for the geckos. She named it Da Fruit Stand and went all out, using cardboard and felt to make the cutest, most colorful little hangout for her lizard friends. She even included stools for them to sit on. She filled it up with fruit and waited, and soon the stand was filled with customers.
According to The Dodo, the fruit stand was so popular that Sheron decided to keep adding different areas for the geckos, including a playhouse and a rock tower. The geckos loved climbing all over the little spaces and eating the fruit Sheron left for them, and they became more and more comfortable with her as time went on.
Recently, Sheron added a new business to the lineup — a tiny tiki bar. She put fruit on the bar so the geckos could come and “have a drink.” She was eager to see if they’d like it, and she was not disappointed.
The geckos hung from the bar with their little toes and happily ate their fruit. Sheron loved seeing all her tiny customers, and when she posted the video on TikTok, thousands of people agreed that they were just the cutest.
Many people commented that Sheron should add stools to the bar, but the geckos seemed to like the bar just the way it was. Sheron loves finding new ways to keep her gecko friends entertained, and seeing them use all of her creations is always the best part of her day.
Her compassion for these tiny creatures shows how simple acts of kindness can strengthen our connection to the natural world around us. Whether you have geckos in your yard or other wildlife nearby, finding gentle ways to coexist with nature benefits everyone.
