Ah, the Russian dashboard cam. It has given us so many internet treats! But here’s one that’s particularly awesome. This couple stopped by the side of the road when they noticed something odd. When they got out of their car they discovered a prairie dog stuck in a hole in the middle of the road! It’s not too unusual to see a prairie dog peeping out of his burrow, but it’s quite another thing to see one flailing about like this poor fellow.
Stuck as he was, this prairie dog was completely vulnerable. If they hadn’t noticed him in time, the couple may very well have driven right over him and crushed him. Not to mention that being stuck in a hole like that makes him easy prey for any predators that might come sniffing around.
But then this couple did something amazing. In true Green Monster style, they pulled the struggling prairie dog out of his trap! And off he goes, probably rushing back to his friends and family. Hopefully he’ll remember to check the size of the door of the next burrow before he tries to enter!
