Texas Man Claims Self-Defense in Fatal Shooting to Protect Dog

In an incident on November 10, a man from Houston’s northwest side fatally shot another man, citing the protection of his dog as the motive. According to the Houston Police Department, the shooting occurred around 8 p.m. at a residence where a friend was visiting the dog’s human. An argument between the two men escalated when, as reported by KPRC, the friend allegedly began choking the dog.

Faced with the immediate threat to his canine companion, the dog’s human resorted to using lethal force to halt the attack, resulting in the death of his friend, according to information provided by the police to KHOU. The man remained at the scene and awaited the arrival of law enforcement, where he was subsequently taken into custody, as reported by WOAI.
