House Bill 1069, which passed in the Republican-controlled House of Representatives last month, would ban any form of health education until sixth grade and prohibit students from asking questions about menstruation and their periods. Preventing young kids from talking about menstruation could literally create a public health crisis. It is crucial that children learn about and understand the changes their bodies are going through, and sex/reproductive education is a vital part of that. These programs benefit all of us – from reducing rates of teen pregnancy to helping get children access to the care they need to manage menstrual health. Please sign this petition now to tell the Florida Legislature to reject this bill and govern with compassion and reason!
