For one avid cat lover, Sheila, fostering kittens is her life’s work. Sheila has fostered dozens of cats through the Multnomah County Animal Services (MCAS) in Troutdale, Oregon, over the years and currently, Sheila is incredibly fostering TEN kittens at once.
How do you end up foster almost a dozen kittens at once? MCAS’ Action Cat Team will go into local areas that have large populations of cats and help educate citizens on the importance of vaccines and spay and neuter.
“They provide access to free services and convince people to surrender kittens that would otherwise not receive medical care,” Sheila told Love Meow.
Sheila’s current batch of ten foster kittens were ones that were surrendered to MCAS. They were all underweight but thankfully, they have started to eat well after coming home with Sheila, who has been working 24/7 to nurse them back to health.
Sheila’s son, Spencer, recently came to visit and meet the little ones – like a magnet, all of the fluff balls made their way to her son. As you can see from the above video, the kittens cover Spencer like a blanket! He didn’t have the heart to move as the kittens snuggled up around his neck and nuzzled in his arms.
“This group of kittens love people. They are fearless and overly friendly. My son, speaks kitten,” Sheila says about the heartwarming moment.
