A boy scout in Palatine, Illinois was awarded the most prestigious Conservation award for executing four different Conservation projects over the course of four years. The boy scout is Saipranav Venkatakrishnan, a high school senior, who researched, executed, and finally, presented, his Conservation projects to others.

Venkatakrishnan was presented with the Silver Hornaday Conservation Award, a rare prize that has only been given less than 1,250 times in its 105-year history. Besides earning this rare award, Venkatakrishnan also has earned 69 merit badges in a wide field of studies. He was also a member of the first boy scout team to put an experiment on the international space station.

Venkatakrishnan has a bright future in conservation, as he has already done so much to spread awareness and volunteered for numerous community Conservation projects.

People like Venkatakrishnan provide hope for the future of our world. It’s amazing to see someone so young already have such a passion for Conservation and sustainability. With his track record, Venkatakrishnan is heading for amazing things and could one day become known for his contribution to the field of Conservation.
