This video is so precious! It’s so special to see a mother pig getting to snuggle one of her babies. In both factory farms and pet breeding operations, animals are continuously bred until they can no longer get pregnant. All of their babies are taken away and they never get the chance to care for them as they would naturally.
Pumpkin came from a backyard breeder, where she too was forced to give birth over and over. When Life With Pigs rescued her, they asked to keep one of her piglets from her final litter and her former owner complied. Now Pumpkin gets to live out her days on a peaceful sanctuary, snuggling the only piglet she was ever able to keep. Her daughter, Charlotte, will never know the suffering that came before. She gets to live a happy life getting all of the love and snuggles that she deserves.
