A police officer out on patrol almost hit a puppy standing on the side of the road – good thing the puppy’s mom was there to save him.
The police car’s dashcam caught the potentially disastrous moment when the police officer driving the car failed to slow down in anticipation of the puppy. Good thing the puppy’s mom pulled him to safety in the nick of time. Now that’s a fantastic mother!
While we wish the police officer has slowed down or even stopped to ensure the safety of these two, the reality is that not everyone is as apt to lend a hand to animals in need. If you ever come across a stray animal wandering into the road and are inspired to step in, there are a few things you should keep in mind. First, make sure that you don’t cause an accident by slamming on your brakes to stop. Slow down and check your surroundings to see if there is a safe place to pull off and escort the animal out of harm’s way.
We can’t rely on every stray animal to have a doting mother behind them, so always exercise caution when out on the road!
