What happens when a baby elephant comes face to face with a cat? Does the baby strike, back down, wimper, run away, or try to play? Given their difference in strength and size, it may seem like the elephant would simply crush the cat to pieces.

But that’s not what happened at Elephant Nature Park. As a baby elephant named Navann walked passed a cat, he kept walking as if nothing happened. Then, he came back to the cat and stopped to interact, but only for a brief moment. As if shrugging his shoulders and determining the cat was of not interest to him, Navann quickly moved his trunk into the air and kept walking. Or, that shrug could have meant “get out of here and don’t come back, cat.” The poor cat looks a bit startled at the end of the video, and is probably both confused and relieved as well.
