Unfortunately, the world is not a very peaceful or safe place for many individuals. From conflict to abuse to exploitation, there is so much cruelty inflicted on both humans and animals. While this can get disheartening and difficult to hear, petitions are a great way to use your voice for good. Just by signing one, you are a part of helping those who are not treated fairly. You can even share them with friends and acquaintances to increase your impact.

Through petitions, we can reach those in power and demand justice for others. They are valuable tools for making positive changes in the world. If you are looking for a way to help animals and humans, here are six petitions you should sign this week, including Help Stop Elephants from Being Hit by Trains in India, Help Fight Student Loan Debt, and Justice for Wyoming Man Who Tortured Wolf.

We want to thank you for being the change you wish to see in the world and giving a voice to the voiceless.

1. Help Repeal Still Active Abortion Ban in Arizona from the 1800s

The Arizona state Supreme Court just ruled that a law from 1864 banning abortion is still active and enforceable.

The ban dates from the Civil War era, 48 years before Arizona even gained statehood in the U.S. For decades, this antiquated law had been irrelevant since the Roe vs. Wade decision began protecting the right to an abortion nationwide in 1973. But now, with Roe gone, old laws are resurfacing.

And now this 160-year-old abortion ban is resurfacing like a ghost from hell to plague pregnant people in the state.

Please sign this petition to demand the Arizona state legislature finally do what it should have done years ago and repeal this law from the 1800s!

2. Help Stop Elephants from Being Hit by Trains in India, Help Fight Student Loan Debt, Justice for Wyoming Man Who Tortured Wolf, and More!

Bani, a nine-month-old elephant calf, was tragically orphaned when her pregnant mother was struck by a speeding train in India. While Bani survived the accident, she was left with serious injuries and fractured bones. Sadly, Bani’s heart-wrenching story is much too common. In the last decade, train collisions in India have killed over 200 endangered elephants, making it the second-highest cause of unnatural elephant deaths in India. To make matters worse, this is preventable.

Please sign this petition to demand authorities in India implement immediate measures to prevent more of these needless tragedies.

3. Tell the World Bank to Stop Funding “Hog Hotels” in China

The term “hog hotels” might conjure images of luxury, but the grim reality is far from it. These towering structures in China house thousands of pigs crammed into tight spaces on every floor. These hog hotels are funded by millions from the private sector arm of the World Bank, which dramatically opposes the organization’s global sustainability goals and its public commitments to animal welfare and environmental standards.

Please sign this petition to demand the World Bank stop funding this animal welfare nightmare!

4. Help Fight Student Loan Debt

President Joe Biden has been making good on his promises to try his best and offer relief from the crushing burden of runaway student debt in the U.S. But, of course, he’s been thwarted at multiple turns by Congress and even the U.S. Supreme Court. Now, thankfully, he’s trying again – and we must speak up to ensure Congress finally supports these important efforts.

Please sign this petition to stand by the middle class and fight skyrocketing student loan debt!

5. Justice for Dogs Who Were Left Inside a Camper to Die

Someone called authorities in North Dakota recently, claiming a man had locked a dog inside a camper, leaving it at risk for abuse.

When officials arrived, however, they didn’t only find the one living dog inside the home. They also found two more – the skeleton of a dead dog, and the half-eaten remains of yet another pup. The floor of the camper was covered in feces. There were no humans on the premises.

Please sign this petition to help ensure this man will never be allowed to live with animals again.

6. Justice for Man Who Paraded Around an Injured Wolf in a Bar and Shot Him

The following story is one of the most heartbreaking instances of animal cruelty we have witnessed. And yet, the perpetrator has had no charges brought against him.

Cody Roberts of Sublette County, Wyoming was riding his snowmobile when he spotted a young wolf — some sources describe the pup as just a year old. Roberts then proceeded to chase the wolf to the point of exhaustion and mow them down with his snowmobile, injuring them so badly that they couldn’t flee.

Instead of putting the wolf out of their misery, Roberts kept the poor thing alive for his own entertainment. He taped their mouth shut and brought the wolf to his local bar, where photos show him grinning with a beer in his hand and holding the exhausted, terrified, injured animal close.

After Roberts and his friends at the bar had their fun, he took the wolf out back and shot them. For this hours-long display of cruelty and torture, Roberts was only fined $250 for being in possession of a live wolf.

Please sign this petition demanding authorities in Sublette County bring animal cruelty charges against this sadistic man!
