Every dog is unique. Personality-wise, they all have their different quirks, likes, dislikes, and behaviors. Appearance-wise, they may have spots all over their body, differently colored eyes, or even an extra limb!
Ellery Max is a bulldog that was born with five legs! Many breeders do not want to deal with dogs that have special needs or look a bit different because they are not profitable. Thus, they will abandon or surrender these pups. This was the case for Ellery Max.
Fortunately, this unique pup was taken in by loving rescuers that could care for his special needs. He was a bit lazy at first and needed a lot of attention, but eventually, he became a lot more confident! Despite his tiny size, he started playing with the big dogs and eventually became one himself! As he grew up, Ellery Max started nurturing the other puppies that came in.
Because his extra leg dangled behind him and was rubbing against his other leg, his fifth leg was amputated. Even without an extra leg, Ellery Max is still such a special dog! In January 2020, he found his forever home and was renamed Walter. Yay!
