The european robin, known simply as the robin or robin redbreast in Ireland and Britain, is a small insectivorous passerine bird

Researchers at the University of Sussex have raised alarms about a serious environmental hazard—pesticide contamination from common flea and tick treatments for pets is poisoning songbirds across the UK. Shockingly, every investigated songbird nest was found to contain fipronil, a pesticide banned for use in agriculture within the UK and EU. This highlights a critical gap in the regulation of veterinary drugs.

We urgently need your help to sign the petition and demand that the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (DEFRA) conducts a thorough environmental risk assessment of all veterinary drugs. It is vital that DEFRA imposes stricter controls to protect our native wildlife.

By signing this petition, you take a stand against the unintended consequences of pet care products. Every signature brings us closer to safeguarding our songbirds and ensuring our ecosystems remain intact for future generations.

Please, sign the petition now to ensure that our love for pets does not compromise the health of our beloved songbirds. Let’s urge DEFRA to take immediate action to prevent further harm. Sign now and be a voice for wildlife Conservation!
