With marine parks (especially SeaWorld) under such immense heat, it’s time to think about the future of animal exhibitions. While live animal exhibitions are usually cruel and hold wild animals that should be free in captivity, perhaps we can re-think the nature of viewing animals in light of all of the digital capabilities available in our world today. Meet this digital animal exhibition system, deemed “LightAnimal.” As the video description explains, “The LightAnimal system is a completely new animal exhibition system made with computer graphics that will help expand the possibilities of animal education and entertainment without causing harm to any real animals.” You will have to check out the full video to see all of the various creative ways this exhibition has been showcased already. But the bottom line here is that we need to re-think the traditional ways we view animals. Digital showings like this allow people to see and learn about animals — without the cruelty and captivity!
