Kids are one of the pickiest types of eaters out there. They won’t eat anything that looks weird.” And, unless you’re one of the lucky ones, they won’t touch their fruits and veggies either.

It’s tough to try and feed the little ones when they only eat what looks familiar, or eat the same three things over and over again. It can leave them nutrient deficient and can impact their brain development.

However, there are healthy, vegan meals that kids love. There are also ways to teach you kids to want to eat healthy! Try to incorporate small amounts of a “new” food with your child’s usual meals, so that they may become accustomed to the so-called yucky stuff.” Exposure helps do the trick.

Another great way to get kids to eat better is by setting an example of yourself — as the parent, guardian, older sibling. Eat a side full of steamed carrots in front of your child at dinner and exclaim out loud how delicious it is! During snack time, chomp on those apple slices slathered with almond butter! Kids imitate and they will eventually imitate your eating habits.

Try incorporating some of these healthy, vegan childhood-favorites into a little kid’s menu. They might not even notice the difference!
