Wagamama has become the first British restaurant chain to go 50% plant-based with their menu! This is a huge step in the right direction as more consumers in the UK demand plant-based options and the desire to go plant-based continues to grow in popularity.
Wagamama recently released a campaign in conjunction with their new menu items. It includes a short video inspired by Kaiju, a Japanese film genre that features giant monsters. The star of the campaign is a dinosaur called Vegamama, who is on a mission to help save the planet.
The campaign is shot in a highly polluted modern-day scene. Vegamama storms through the city, angry about the damage that humans have caused the earth. The ad ends rather abruptly after a Wagamama customer calms down the dinosaur by explaining that eating plants is the best way to help save the environment.
This campaign, though a bit cheesy, is a great way to help people understand the purpose of eating more plant-based foods. It is about saving the environment, saving the animals, and ultimately saving ourselves.
