This year is going to be a different type of Thanksgiving.
Instead of the traditional animal-product laden table — turkey, ham, butter-filled mashed potatoes, and a mixture of all in the stuffing — you’re going to introduce your loved ones to a hardy, festive, mouth-watering, beautiful vegan feast.
First, you need to design your meal. Then, it’s all about cooking!
Luckily, there is a slew of affordable brands that have got you covered this holiday season with vegan-friendly staples. Plus, many of these can be easily found at your local grocery store or ordered online! From the basics, such as “butter” and “cream,” to the central pieces, such as ham and turkey, here are a few brands here to help you create a fantasy vegan feast!
For those interested in eating more plant-based, we highly recommend downloading the Food Monster App – with over 15,000 delicious recipes it is the largest meatless, vegan, plant-based and allergy-friendly recipe resource to help you get healthy!

1. Gardein Savory Stuffed Stuffed Turk’y
If you’re a practicing vegan, it’s very possible you’ve already heard about this meatless product. If you haven’t, you’re most likely wondering what the heck Gardein is all about.
First off, it’s a 100 percent vegan meat alternative. Gardein is made with “soy, wheat and pea proteins, vegetables and ancient grains (quinoa, amaranth, millet and kamut®).” As their product is made from plant-based foods, it’s rich in fiber — making it easier to digest — is also “free of cholesterol, trans and saturated fats.”
Most of us go straight for the turkey roast when considering a meatless alternative product such as this Gardein Savory Stuffed Stuffed Turk’y. What do you get? Two individually stuffed Gardein turk’y’s with two additional packets of vegan gravy.
What are mashed potatoes without that thick delicious gravy? In fact, what is Thanksgiving without wonderful gravy? This year, give yourself a break and try out some pre-made vegan gravy such as this Seitenbacher Mushroom Gravy. Made with champignon, potatoes, onions, dead sea salt, rice flour, pea protein, brown sugar, shiitake mushroom, celery, and mustard, this gravy will have even those non-vegans at the table fooled! Plus, Seitenbacher’s gravy has zero artificial ingredients and is free of lactose, fat, yeast, MSG, and gluten. For the big day, you’re going to want to stock up on this awesome staple! Get ahead of the game and order a 12-pack of 1.06-ounce pouches for $23.84.
Next up to gravy (maybe even more important to some), is stuffing. It’s that warm, fluffy, savory side that pairs so deliciously well with cranberry and honey glazed ham. Just because you’re a vegan eater doesn’t mean you have to give this traditionally animal-product filled staple up!
Take a chance on a premade mix (gasps all around!) such as this savory herb-flavored Arrowhead Mills Organic Stuffing? You’ll save time while creating a delicious stuffing side for your Thanksgiving spread. Arrowhead Mills Organic Stuffing is a “light, fluffy blend of organic wheat [and] savory seasonings” and is both USDA-Certified Organic and certified Kosher. Simply add your favorite vegan broth or water
4. 365 Everyday Value Whole Berry Organic Cranberry Sauce
Cranberry sauce is oftentimes that bowl of deep red juice that we all forget about. Yet, for vegans at a traditional Thanksgiving table, the cranberry sauce is oftentimes the only thing they actually can eat. Therefore, let’s take a moment to celebrate this essential Thanksgiving table item by making it super easy to include and hard to not forget!
365 Everyday Value is one of those trusted companies that offer a variety of organic staples. This 365 Everyday Value Whole Berry Organic Cranberry Sauce is yet another that won’t disappoint. It’s made with organic cranberries, organic sugar cane, filtered water, and organic lemon juice concentrate. This product is not only fat-free and is low-sodium, but it’s certified organic, certified kosher, and certified vegan. A single 15-ounce can costs only $2.19!
Alright, we may be vegan, but we all know the importance of eggs when it comes to baking. We also know how difficult it can be to substitute for this particular baking ingredient. Of course, we’re really talking about the days before vegan egg substitutes. These days grocery store shelves are resplendent with substitutes of all kinds. Yet with new products and options, it becomes even more important to make sure the product you choose isn’t adding any unwanted “hidden” ingredients such as sugar or hydrogenated oils.
This is where JUST Egg comes in!
Super new to the vegan scene (just 5 years old), JUST Egg “is a fluffy, filling and savory breakfast protein made form plants that scrambles just like eggs.” Alright, so what’s it made of? Ready for it … mung beans. Yep, those super smelly and incredibly nutritious legumes.
This holiday season opt for a super healthy, nutrient-rich egg substitute that also seeks to make an impact on the world at large in a positive way. JUST egg is “full of computational biologists from Stanford, and food engineers from Kraft and Campbell’s, and chefs from Michelin-star restaurants,” all working together “to do everything they possibly can, every single day, to increase the probability that, before we die, a fair, honest, and just food system is the food system in every community.”
JUST Egg is available on grocery store shelves at Whole Foods Market, Sprouts Farmers Market, and Safeway or can be purchased online such as this two-pack of 12-ounce bottles of JUST Egg for $46.99.
Tofurky isn’t just vegan turkey, this well-loved and well-known brand is also a great source of plant-based holiday staples including vegan ham alternatives, began gravy, and even a vegan roast option.
If you’re looking to go traditional with a good ol’ turkey roast try this Tofurky Roast With Wild Rice Stuffing. The roast is made with a “savory blend of wheat and tofu,” and is filled with a “flavorful wild rice and bread crumb stuffing.” Upon purchase, this vegan-friendly meal is “ready to be basted, roasted, carved and devoured by the whole posse.”
If you’re like me, then you just gotta know what’s in the food you eat. Tofurky is a mixture of vegetarian and vegan-friendly protein, “usually made from tofu (soybean protein) or seitan (wheat protein) with a stuffing made from grains or bread, flavored with a [vegan] broth and seasoned with herbs and spices.” Sounds good to me! Just make sure you read the ingredients list if you’re avoiding gluten or heave a wheat allergy!
Think you have to find an expensive boutique, specialty brand in order to get your hands on vegan Thanksgiving staple ingredients?
Reddi-wip, one of the oldest whip cream providers, is now offering a completely vegan-friendly, non-dairy whip cream option! Available in two flavors — almond and coconut — this whipped cream is “free from artificial flavors and gluten — but full of indulgent taste.” What’s it made from? The coconut flavor is created from coconut milk, sugar from beet or cane, pea protein, and natural flavors.
It’s important to note that Reddi-wip uses carrageenan in their products, a controversial plant-based “carbohydrate derived from red seaweed which is used as a thickening, emulsifying, gelling, or stabilizing agent.” Read up on the ingredient before using it in order to decide whether to include or avoid this product in your Thanksgiving day meal!
Vegan-friendly Reddi-wip can be found in most grocery stores including Safeway, Target, and Walmart for just $3.99 per can!
So, we know about the Gardein Savory Stuffed Stuffed Turk’y, the central dish to a vegan Thanksgiving table, but how about taking a spin on that “turk’y roast” and offer a lighter, easier, and more kid-friendly option. These tender and cripsy Gardein Lightly Breaded Turk’y Cutlets are the perfect addition or side to a Gardein-friendly table. These tenders are GMO-free, vegan, and kosher! Plus, if you’ve got the entire family coming over, Amazon is offering a bulk pack of eight for $82.75.
Did I mention that Tofurky offers more than just the turkey roast? Absolutely! Tofurky has a range of vegan-friendly Thanksgiving staples including this Ham Roast with Amber Ale Glaze. This plant-based entree is the perfect centerpiece for your table offering a tender, smokey-flavored roast that is “complemented by a sweet, tangy glaze.” Tofurky’s Ham Roast with Amber Ale Glaze is a great partner dish to the Tofurky Roast With Wild Rice Stuffing with veggie side dishes and your favorite mashed potatoes!
Instead of loading the table with cholesterol-rich baked ham, swap it out for this Harvest Celebration Field Roast. This plant-based ham is based around “rich and savory sausage-style stuffing made from Field Roast grain meat, fresh cut butternut squash, mushrooms, and granny smith apples seasoned with a blend of rosemary, thyme, and sage.” Add onto that a rub complete with sage, garlic, lemon juice and you’re really in mouth-watering business.
Yes, please, and thank you!
