There’s nothing more disheartening than watching the satisfying season finale of your favorite show only to have it dawn on you: your queue is empty, and you’re all out of episodes to watch. The worst is when it happens in the summertime when you have plenty of empty time on your hands.
This summer we’ve happily been granted a reprieve because a new series called “The Vegan Road Show USA” is debuting online on August 12, on YouTube. VegNews reports that the 22-episode series will star fitness trainer and actor Mehmet Edip and show creator Sky Valencia as they travel to vegan-friendly restaurants across the country.
The duo will begin with the Los Angeles vegan scene and will visit mainstays such as Crossroads Kitchen, Gracias Madre, and Real Food Daily. Next, the hosts will travel and eat their plant-based way through San Diego, San Francisco, and Las Vegas, before branching out across the country. Occasionally celebrity guest-stars, such as director James Cameron’s niece, Maggie Taylor, will join them.
Valencia and Edip will sample vegan tacos, kale-based shakes, macaroni and cheese, and even visit the iconic vegan company Follow Your Heart to learn all about plant-based cheese!

Make Your Own Vegan Eats Inspired by Valencia and Edip’s Travels!
Once we read about all the delectable plant-based kale smoothies and vegan tacos that Valencia and Edip are slated to enjoy on-screen, we got to day-dreaming about making our own meals inspired by their adventures. What’s more fun than dining along with them as they travel across the country and feast? We searched through our Food Monster App to bring you a collection of recipes from our bloggers that are similar to the ones we are excited to see Valencia and Edip taste-test on-screen!
Valencia and Edip slurp down some creamy, kale-based smoothies on the show. We’re huge fans of this sweet, vitamin C-rich, calcium-packed Kale Honeydew Melon Smoothie. Protein superstar chia seeds unite with the rest of the ingredients in this refreshing, unique, and bright green smoothie!
This gluten-free Healthy Mac n’ Cheese recipe delivers comfort food goodness without all the heaviness, so it would be perfect for all road-trippers out there. The creamy cheese sauce is made with a base of potatoes and carrots and made cheesy through the awesome power of spices!
How beautiful are these Pan-Fried Avocado Tacos With Pickled Onions? The avocados are a little crispy, a little creamy, and nestled in flour tortillas. Before you roll everything up, they’re topped with flash-pickled onions and a cool Mexi-cali slaw. These tacos are easy to whip up and go remarkably well with good friends and a lovely afternoon of watching vegan television shows!
Okay, one more taco recipe for the road. These Jerk Cauliflower Tacos have layers on layers on layers of flavor, and the slightest hint of sweetness from a dash of sugar (which also helps the cauliflower crisp up!). Make a big batch of this jerk cauliflower and the possibilities are endless. Pack it into rice bowls. Toss it into a salad with your favorite veggies. Wrap it in a tortilla with all of the fixings for a lunch burrito or an awesome taco for the road.
