New York City has established itself as a veritable vegan food mecca over the past decade. Not only is it the home of affordable, award-winning veggie burgers and vegan doughnuts that won a Food Network competition, but Happy Cow even named New York City the fifth best city to find plant-based food in the world.

If you’re looking for vegan food in New York, you probably have a favorite grocery store that carries your staple plant-based pantry needs; maybe you’re even a regular at a restaurant that serves up affordable plant-based fare for those nights that cooking seems out of the question.

But if you haven’t stopped by New York City’s first ever 100-percent Vegan Shop-Up that has been taking place in Brooklyn since 2011, then you are missing out.

Every second Saturday of the month, the pop-up shop takes over Pine Box Rock Shop, a bar in Bushwick. From 12:00 to 5:00 p.m., the space transforms into a food fair which is replete with a variety of both big-name and local vendors. From savory bites, indulgent desserts, to kid-favorite staples, the fair has you covered.

Who says vegans can’t have hot dogs? Yeah Dawg is a vegan vendor known to sling its dawgs at the shop-up on occasion.

How decadent do these gluten-free Chocolate Covered Triple Nut Brownie Bites by Gone Pie look?

Vegicano has been on our radar for a while for his plant-based Mexican culinary creations. Can we taco bout this trio of Homemade Seitan, Soyrizo, and Jackfruit tacos?

Dough-not let yourself leave the shop-up without sampling at least one vegan doughnut from Peaceful Provisions.

We know you’ll be screaming for more vegan Spicy Cheezy Vegan Sausage Pizza Pockets with Ranch from Screamer’s Pizzeria.
