Chickpea & Olive, a New York-based plant-based pop-up, just launched its beloved Mac & Cheesesteak meal at Whole Foods in Williamsburg!

Their Instagram page broke the news, saying, “That’s right fam. Our famous Chk’N Cheesesteak topped with our Mac & cheese, caramelized onions and creamy cheese sauce on the freshest Italian bread FTW available now @wholefoodsWBG & @grubhub @seamless.”

The Mac & Cheesesteak contains roasted jackfruit, slow-cooked caramelized onions, vegan cheddar cheese, pickled peppers and confetti sauce, and has been combined with their macaroni and cheese. Their macaroni is made from housemade cheese sauce and adorned with fried shallots. What a pair!

Although this menu item is new, Whole Foods Williamsburg has already partnered with Chickpea & Olive in the past and has since harbored a great relationship with the small company.

Chickpea & Olive’s goal is to recreate soul comforting food with a healthy twist, and they’re doing just that. Other tasty menu items include a bacon cheddar ranch burger, avocado sandwich, a cheddar mushroom melt and pulled bbq jackfruit sandwich.
