Popular 100-percent vegan and gluten-free food truck, Shimmy Shack, is planning to open a permanent store on August 1st. It will be open near Ann Arbor and Haggerty roads in Plymouth. Launched in 2013, Shimmy Shack are metro Detroit’s one and only vegan food truck so this brick and mortar location will surely satisfy fans and customers. It was also rated one of top five trucks by PETA!

Some plans include a marketplace for customizable gift baskets, birthday party space rentals, speakers for presentations and vintage company, The Velvet Tower, will hold pop up shops that hold no wool, silk, leather or fur!
The menu has items like a coney dog with black bean chili, Southwest Burgers, a house-made black bean and rice patty, and the classic burger, a vegan version of a fast food burger. They’ll also serve fries, chili fries, and chili cheese fries with special sauces that come in a variety of flavors like chocolate, pumpkin, strawberry and cookie monster. All vegan. All good.
Owner Debra Levantrosser says, “Every time you eat at Shimmy Shack, you know you are being compassionate towards animals, nice to your body and kind to the environment. We show that living a vegan lifestyle just makes sense.” And we completely agree with that.
