Subway is increasing its plant-based menu in time for Veganuary. Per the Mirror, the sandwich chain is adding some vegan items at UK stores for 2021.
The brand will offer the vegan T.L.C. (Tastes Like Chicken) Sub and Vegan Double Choc Cookie. Right now, the company offers plant-based items including the Meatless Meatball Marinara Sub and Plant Based Patty.

The new T.L.C Sub is available in six inch or footlong options, or a salad or wrap for more variety. The “chicken” in the sub is soy-based strips and it also comes with Violife vegan cheese. And the cookie is the first vegan offering from the brand. The double choc cookie is made to mimic the flavors of the original double chocolate cookie.
Angelina Gosal, Head of Marketing UK & Ireland at Subway said: “Our new plant-based T.L.C. Sub will delight both our vegan and non-vegan fans – we’ve created a product that tastes so much like our flavour-full chicken breast strips, guests will be surprised it’s not the real thing. With our new additions, we now have one of the biggest and tastiest plant-based menus on the high street, to offer you even more choice.”
The options are available from December 30 in the UK.Subway is just one of many companies responding to plant-based demand with new meat-free options. Nestle recently announced it would be making plant-based pizza and lasagna. The Impossible Burger is now available at places like Red Robin and Burger King. Domino’s is bringing a vegan pizza to the UK.
