Snoop Dogg is getting into the hot dog business, and it seems his menu will include vegetarian sausages!

While he hasn’t made an official announcement regarding his business venture, the popular rapper filed for federal trademark registration on the term “Snoop Doggs” with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on December 6, 2021.

The “intent-to-use application” was filed on behalf of Calvin Broadus (aka: Snoop Dogg), for a business “including hot dogs, hot dog sausages, sausages, turkey sausages, vegetarian sausages; food for consumption on or off the premises including hot dogs, hot dog sausages, sausages, turkey sausages, vegetarian sausages.”

The trademark was filed just a few years after he swore off eating hot dogs on live television. Back in 2016, Snoop appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live for a segment, Howz It Mizzade with Snoop Dogg.

After learning how hot dogs were made, Snoop said, “This is hot dog?! Aw cuz I ain’t never eating a motherf*****g hot dog cuz. Ugh! Every time I see a motherf*****r with a hot dog on his plate at a barbecue, I’m knocking that s**t out his hands. If that’s how they make hot dogs, I don’t want one. I’m good.”

While Snoop didn’t go vegan after that, he did become a big advocate for the lifestyle so it makes sense that his new hot dog business would include vegetarian options. According to Forbes, Snoop Dogg has invested money into both Beyond Meat and Outstanding Foods and made an effort to incorporate more plant-based foods into his diet.

In an interview with Forbes, he said, “With such a busy schedule, I needed to make sure that I’m taking care of myself both mentally and physically. I needed to change up my diet a bit to help me give me all the nutrients I need to continue to be at the top of my game. Some of my immediate family are vegan and vegetarian so they helped me figure out the best plan with me.”

He’s also publically partnered with Beyond Meat and even created a 100% vegan hot dog recipe:

It’ll be interesting to see what vegetarian or vegan creations he brings to his own business!
