Seltzer is more popular than ever. According to NPR, more and more Americans are choosing unsweetened, lighter options like seltzer over soda, with seltzer sales increasing 42 percent over the past five years.
And it’s not just soda that seltzer is replacing. Beer is also facing some new competition from alcoholic seltzers that market themselves as being more health-conscious and lighter options than traditional beers.
With that in mind, here are some seltzers (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) to keep help refresh you this summer!
Alcoholic Seltzers
1. White Claw Cherry Seltzer
This hard seltzer is less filling than beer and features the taste of black cherry to make it even more refreshing.
2. Spiked Seltzer Variety Pack
This variety pack has hard seltzers in a variety of flavors including cranberry, orange, lime, and grapefruit. Try them all!
Non-Alcoholic Seltzers
1. Vintage Seltzer
Sometimes you can’t beat the classic! This seltzer is no-fuss and comes in an extra large bottle for extra-convenient hydration.
“Just what I needed. Lots of bubbles. Size perfect. Hate to drag home liter bottles from the store. Door delivery is great,” said an Amazon reviewer. You can get this for $24.99 for a 12-pack.
2. Langers Organic Flavored Sparkling Water, Ginger
This organic seltzer has a unique ginger flavor! It’s also GMO-free and totally unsweetened. It’s $15.75 for an 8-pack.
“Let me start by saying this is not a ginger ale type drink, which is great for me because ginger ale is disgusting. This is unsweetened carbonated water with organic ginger flavor – that’s it. The water is intensely gingery, so if you’re looking for something subtle maybe this one isn’t for you,” said one Amazon reviewer. “I love fizzy water and specifically bought this drink because I’m pregnant with lots of morning sickness, and ginger is supposed to help with nausea. My husband, who also likes fizzy water, has started using this water as a replacement for ginger beer to make Dark and Stormy cocktails. It’s a great way for him to enjoy a mixed drink, but cut out lots of added sugar from his diet. This is a great ginger drink, and will definitely keep buying.”
3. Sap! Maple Seltzer Water
This seltzer uses maple sap from Vermont, and each can has 46 naturally occurring vitamins, minerals, polyphenols, antioxidants, and prebiotics. It has no added sugar, as well! It’s $39.99 for a 24-pack.
“If you like a dry SELTZER this is actually quite intriguing. If you’re after a potent or sweet maple experience, you’re going to be disappointed,” one user wrote in a review. “This seltzer provides a clean yet subtly complex flavor profile. At best I’d say it offers “a hint or two” of maple flavor. It’s there, but your taste buds have to search for it. What truly shines through in this drink is a showcase of curious and earthy minerality with its array of natural, unadulterated tannins.”
4. Sanavi Organic Sparkling Spring Water Bottle, Lemon
This organic and unsweetened sparkling water has a refreshing lemon flavor with no artificial flavors. It also comes in orange/mango and lime flavors! It’s $17.09 for a 12-pack.
“Delicious! Great for those who can’t have sugar OR artificial sweeteners,” said one reviewer.
5. Spindrift Seltzer Water, Cucumber
Spindrift is sparkling water with fruit and vegetable juice squeezed inside. This particular variety has 1/3 of a real cucumber! It costs $9.99 for a 4-pack.
“This cucumber sparkling water is remarkably refreshing,” said one Amazon reviewer.
6. La Croix Sparkling Water, Lemon

Known for its distinctive label, La Croix is a staple for many seltzer-lovers. This lemon flavor is especially refreshing, but it also comes in grapefruit and berry varieties!
“I love La Croix sparkling water! I’ve bought it in several different flavors,” a reviewer said.
7. Bubly Sparkling Water, Mango
This seltzer has a unique mango flavor! Perfect to drink over ice while sitting by a pool this summer. It’s $10.99 for a pack of 18.
“I believe water like this is an acquired taste and so much better for you than other carbonated drinks loaded with sugar and artificial sweeteners,” wrote a reviewer. “If you know what to expect this is a great product and I’m happy that it is available!
8. Seagram’s Seltzer Water
This classic unflavored seltzer is good when you just want something simple and refreshing.
“Loved it,” wrote an Amazon reviewer.
9. Sparkling Bitters Water, Pear Ginger
This unique pear ginger sparkling water uses a dash of tonic bitters for an intriguing taste. It’s non-alcoholic and has no fruit juice, along with being sweetener-free and non-GMO. It’s $35.99 for a pack of 12.
“Ordered the pear ginger; delicious and unique! Wish they were sold in metro markets – will be trying other flavors,” said a reviewer.
10. Blue Sky Natural True Seltzer
This Blue Sky Natural True Seltzer drink is great for those who want to keep it simple. It’s light and refreshing, as well as being triple-filtered. It’s all natural and contains no caffeine or artificial flavors, colors or preservatives!
“The True Seltzer flavor is an awesome substitute to break of you of any bad soda habits or pair well with any food,” said an Amazon reviewer.
11. Drinkmate Beverage Carbonation Maker
Instead of buying premade seltzer, why not try making your own? You can add whatever flavors you’d like, in addition to being able to carbonate other beverages besides just water! You could try making some sparkling fruit juice. You can get this seltzer maker for $98.06.
“Here’s what I have to say about this unit. This is how real soda is supposed to taste. I live in an 1899 Victorian house and sipping soda made from this fits the taste of what the soda parlors must have been like when soda pop was first discovered,” said an Amazon reviewer. “I am so very glad I purchased this unit. Experimenting with my own flavors will allow me to know what’s going into my soda pop and allow me to drink more water as my doctor suggests with my medical issues.”
