McDonald’s has just launched its McPlant burger in the UK for its vegan, vegetarian, and flexitarian fans. The McPlant burger has been available in McDonald’s other locations but has finally made its way to the UK.
A McDonald’s spokesperson said that the new menu item was “all about giving customers more choices.”
This menu item launch goes hand in hand with McDonald’s recent announcement of adding more meatless options to their menus. Creating more options for their vegan, vegetarian, and flexitarian customers.
Like other fast-food chains, McDonald’s is jumping on the meat-free bandwagon to prove more meatless options. A decision that only makes sense as the demand for meat alternatives is growing. Those following a vegan diet are hoping that the fast-food chain also decides to branch out to dairy-free ice cream flavors since their competitors, like Dairy Queen, have already been selling non-dairy options in their stores.
The UK has waited a long time for the McPlant burger to be available in their location and Mcdonald’s plans on seeing a lot of Beyond Burger sales.
