McDonald’s has decided to increase the number of locations that are sporting the new McPlant burger on the menus. They are adding the meatless menu item to 600 other locations in the San Francisco Bay and Dallas-Ft. Worth areas. The McPlant burgers will only be available for a limited time while the supply lasts.

The vegan burger was first launched in 2021 in eight locations for testing and received a huge amount of Support. This encouraged the fast-food giant to expand this burger to offer it across hundreds of other locations. The company stated, “McDonald’s USA is expanding the test to select restaurants in your area to help us understand customer demand.”

This change came as the fast-food giant‘s competitors began adding plant-based items to their menus and seeing great success with the venture as more people are looking for vegan alternatives.

It is important to note that not all fast-food restaurants are offering completely vegan options, however. Some are still cooking the plant-based menu items alongside meat and dairy items, causing cross-contamination that some vegans would not consider purchasing.
