The burger is made from a Quorn filet, coated in the chain’s secret combination of herbs and spices. It’s assembled with iceberg lettuce, vegan mayonnaise, and KFC’s signature soft buns.

The burger was first launched temporarily in 2019. It sold out within 4 days, showing just how in-demand vegan alternatives are. Last year, it was only available between January and February, but after experiencing so much success, the chain has decided to add it permanently to the menu. Starting January the 4th, the vegan chicken burger will be available in all KFC UK locations as a permanent part of the menu.

Ira Dubinsky, innovation director at KFC UK and Ireland, said in 2019, “The Colonel was all about welcoming everyone to his table – now vegans, flexitarians, and our fried chicken fans can all enjoy the taste of our Original Recipe together. We’ve worked hard to perfect the flavor and make a Vegan Burger the Colonel would be proud of. It’s the flavor of KFC, just with zero chicken.”
