Vegetarian brand Morningstar Farms, owned by Kellogg, has been transitioning their products from vegetarian to vegan for some time now. But six months ago, they officially announced that they will be going fully vegan. Now they are launching a new plant-based meat alternative line called Incogmeato.
Although MorningStar Farms have been around a long time, it’s newer vegan brands like Impossible and Beyond Meat. that have been taking the world by storm. Therefore, MorningStar Farms have quite the competition, but their new line is looking to get it on the plant-based market in a way that can compete with the best of them. Their plant-based burger is said to ‘bleed’ like real meat, an aspect of the Impossible burger that made it as popular as it is.
The new line will include refrigerated plant-based burger patties and plant-based Chik’n tenders and nuggets that are frozen and fully prepared. The products are made with non-GMO soy protein and will be sold in the refrigerated meat case. The vegan tenders and nuggets will be available in the freezer section next to traditional chicken products.
The Incogmeato products will be available in grocery stores and foodservice in early 2020!
