In addition to releasing its 2018 list of the “dirty dozen,” 12 fruits and veggies that it suggests buying organic because of the presence of pesticide residues, the Environmental Working Group has also released the 2018 edition of its “clean fifteen” list – 15 fruits and veggies that were found to be the least contaminated with pesticide residue.
The EWG looked at USDA data to determine which produce was the most and least likely to be contaminated with residue from pesticides. According to the “dirty dozen” list, more than a third of strawberry samples analyzed in 2016 were found to have residue from 10 or more pesticides.
Avocados topped the list this year – so you make your trendy avocado toast without fear. Only one pesticide was found on any of the 360 avocados that were sampled, according to the EWG.
The fruits and veggies in the “clean fifteen” are the least likely to be contaminated with pesticide residue, so you can feel better about not buying them organic, making them easier on your wallet than organic veggies.
Here’s the “clean fifteen” list for 2018:

1. Avocados
2. Sweet Corn
3. Pineapples
4. Cabbages
5. Onions
6. Frozen Sweet Peas
7. Papayas
8. Asparagus
9. Mangoes
10. Eggplants
11. Honeydew Melons
12. Kiwis
13. Cantaloupes
14. Cauliflower
15. Broccoli

Thanks for the list, but I have a question…
Papayas are ALL GMO\’s (unless they are organic)
So how can they be a Clean 15?
