Plant-based options and alternatives have been taking over the food industry for some time now. Staples like Beyond Meat and Impossible Foods have become household names. Not only are plant-based meat alternatives better for the environment, but they are also healthier in careful consumption. With the recent meat shortages, plant-based meat has been more popular than ever. And now there’s a brand new plant-based meat alternative to look forward to — Field Roast’s all new vegan nuggets!
Field Roast is no stranger to the world of plant-based meat. They already sell vegan sausages, Fruffalo wings, Corn dogs, breakfast sausages, and even dairy-free cheese. But their latest invention is meant to remind consumers of the joy nuggets gave them as children.
The company describes them as “breaded to perfection and full of flavor, with a taste and texture comparable to traditional chicken nuggets.” They are made from ingredients like roasted garlic, wheat, and pea protein. Each serving has 14 grams of protein and they are free of soy, GMOs, and artificial ingredients and colors.
The plant-based nuggets are now available in the frozen aisle at “participating Albertson’s, Sobey’s and Price Chopper locations and are expected to start hitting shelves at more retailers this summer,” according to a press release. They’ll also be heading to foodservice locations.
