A small study revealed that many consumers would gladly choose a vegetarian meal when dining out if the option was available.

These results were concluded by providing a group of meat-eaters with several different menus. Some were mostly meat dishes, some had a mixture, while another was mainly vegetarian. These different types of menus revealed that consumers were much more likely to choose a vegetarian food option from a menu composed mainly of vegetarian dishes, showcasing the positive effects of adding more meat-free options to menus.

This research shows that meat-eaters may be willing to make dietary changes if supplied with enough options. This might work by limiting meat options or by simply providing more vegetarian options.

Just this small step could help to cut global meat consumption, which would help to decrease greenhouse gas emissions from animal agriculture, one of the leading causes of widespread pollution. Not to mention all of the animals that would be spared.

If everyone just cut back on their meat consumption just a bit, it could make a huge difference. Even small steps can help if everyone tries to take them.
