According to Chris Hemsworth’s personal trainer, the actor went vegan while shooting for “The Avengers.”

During filming for the movie, Hemsworth started eating a plant-based diet, according to his personal trainer, Luke Zocchi.

“That was a big experiment we tried to see if he could keep the muscle being vegan and it actually surprised me as well because we’re all in this mentality of ‘gotta eat animal protein, protein, protein’ but you can get a lot of protein from beans,” said Zocchi.

Hemsworth’s brother, Liam is also known for eating a vegan diet along with Liam’s fiancée Miley Cyrus.

Congratulations to Chris on trying out a plant-based diet! Here are some tips to help you stay fit while eating vegan, along with recipes from the Food Monster app.

We heard you like beans and veggie burgers!

While it might seem hard at first to find high-protein veggie options, it’s actually easier than you might think! Black bean burgers are a great and tasty source of plant-based protein. Try these Black Bean Burgers With Cilantro Lime Sauce or these simple and flavorful 5-Ingredient Garlic Onion Black Bean Burgers.

You can also get protein from plant-based protein powder!

While a lot of commercially sold protein powders have whey in them, you can buy versions that are free of animal products. You can also make your own vegan protein powder!

Plus, a study has shown that plant-based protein can help just as much as animal-based protein in building muscle.

Make high-protein vegan smoothies!

Protein smoothies are a great way to get the most out of your workout, whether that’s lifting weights or cycling. Try putting that vegan protein powder to use in these Chocolate Raspberry Protein Smoothies or this Pumpkin Protein Smoothie!

And if you don’t have any plant-based protein powder on hand, try making one of these three No-Protein-Powder Protein Smoothies.
