We went through the Food Monster App and found 10 recipes for hot sauce that you will immediately want in your bag. From a smoky kick to a sweet, slow burn, we have hot sauce for everyone!
1. Peach Habanero Hot Sauce

This Peachy Hot Sauce is sweet with a kick. The sweet peaches play well with the zesty heat of the habanero peppers, but beware: this sauce does pack quite a punch. If you’re not a huge fan of extra-spicy foods, feel free to scale back the amount of peppers in the recipe. Remember to always wear gloves when handling spicy peppers!
2. Homemade Hot Sauce

This Homemade Hot Sauce recipe packs a powerful kick. It’s thin and spicy so a little goes a long way. I find a lot of the store bought varieties to be thicker and sweeter, and although they’re certainly tasty, I love how this one is ultra-healthy. My husband and I were absolutely floored when my son started asking for a little bit of “Mommy hot sauce” on some of his favorite dishes. The other fabulous thing about this hot sauce recipe is that it’s a great healthy way to add depth of flavor to a dish without adding oil or fats. Your veggies will be boring no more!
3. Trinidad Hot Pepper Sauce

No Trini kitchen is complete without a bottle of Hot Pepper Sauce! This is a homemade sauce that will not only spice things up, but put flavor on your plate. It can be made from a variety of hot peppers, such as Scotch bonnet, Caribbean red, ghost peppers, and more! If you choose to make a small batch, lemon or lime juice can be substituted for vinegar.
4. Piri Piri Pepper Sauce

This Piri Piri Pepper Sauce is super simple, spicy and delicious. Piri piri means pepper pepper in Swahili, and this sauce is composed of hot peppers, citrus, lemon, onion, herbs, and more. Here, it’s used as a kick-in-the-Pants marinara on top of pita breads, with a little bit of cashew spread or vegan cream cheese to cool things down.
5. Whiskey Hot Sauce

The ingredients in this Whiskey Hot Sauce are simple enough: a hot pepper, one carrot, half a lemon, half an onion, vinegar, water, molasses, cumin, chipotle pepper in adobo sauce, salt, and whiskey. The method is simple, too. Boil the peppers and vegetables in water and vinegar, then add the rest of the ingredients, and simmer for a few minutes. Then puree and store!
6. Raw Hot Sauce

An amazing Raw Hot Sauce recipe that is super easy to make and will light your fire! Fresh jalapeños and garlic adds that perfect spice.
7. Homemade Hot Chili Sauce

This Homemade Hot Chili Sauce is oil-free, spicy, and lightly sweetened with dates. It’s also extremely versatile and with a few small substitutions, like paprika, kimchi, or nutritional yeast, it can be modified to suit different kinds of dishes. Make a jar-full and keep it in your fridge for use in pasta and soup bases, or to pair with potato wedges and crackers.
8. Easy Adobo Sauce

Adobo Sauce has been around the block. It’s become an all-purpose term for seasoning or spice, but to find an authentic version your best bet is to head back in time a few hundred years. Grinding your own chili peppers will help complete that journey, and in doing so you might just find a flavor combo that will make you question the endless aisles of bottled sauces that we rely on these days.
9. Super-Simple 4-Ingredient Thai Chili Sauce

These little peppers are packed with some serious heat! If you aren’t drinking enough water, you will be after this Super Simply Thai Chili Sauce Recipe! I hope you enjoy this delightful fusion of four very simple flavors: garlic, soy, lime and red chili peppers come together to make a sauce worthy of keeping and making again and again!
10. Raw Purple Sriracha

Raw Sriracha? And what’s up with the color? Two questions you might get when you bust out a jar of this stuff — but once people get a taste of it, the only question they’ll be asking is “how did you make it?” This spicy sauce is made by combining cashews, chili peppers, and purple cabbage (don’t worry, you won’t taste it). It’s perfect for wherever you would add Sriracha, but it’s especially gorgeous on colorful salads.
