I thought the fact that dogs have straight digestive tracts and highly acidic stomachs kept them from absorbing salmonella and e coli because the food passes through them so quickly.
Although I am vegan, I thought dogs could eat raw meat (like they would in the wild) and raw eggs?
It’s because of the risk of bacteria like Salmonella and E. coli that may harm the animals. In addition, according to the ASPCA, raw eggs contain an enzyme called avidin that decreases the absorption of biotin (a B vitamin), which can lead to skin and coat problems.
