Savannah, a female pit bull with a pretty, sleek grey coat, was abandoned in a park, starved and blind in one eye, with a rope tied around her neck, a tumor in her ear, and a gaping sore on her back leg. Someone reported the situation to Hope for Paws, and a rescue team came quickly to save the scared, shivering pooch.
With a few treats, gentle petting, and water served via a hamburger bun, Savannah warmed up to her rescuers and learned to trust humans again.
Savannah’s previous owners couldn’t be bothered with her medical needs, so Hope For Paws worked to remove her bad eye and tumor. From the look on her face, it’s clear she’s much happier and more comfortable after the surgery.
Now, Savannah’s in the caring hands of Lauren Lopez, a foster pet parent who was part of the rescue team that saved her. You can read more about this sweet dog on the Hope For Paws Facebook page, and fill out an adoption application through Second Chance at Love.
