People who say vegans are wimpy and weak are really misinformed at this point in the game. With so many plant-based protein options out there, vegans are most often well-fueled machines with plenty of strength and energy. Just ask Frank Medrano, a vegan body builder smashing the stereotype of the so-called “weak” vegan. Although Frank ate meat for 30 years, Frank became vegan around a year ago and hasn’t looked back since. According to Forks Over Knives, Frank now feels “real high energy” and experiences quicker recovery times between workouts. He calls his diet “super wellness.”

Now, Frank has paired with two fellow friends and body builders to form “Vegan Warriors,” a web site that shares videos, answers questions, and provides information on vegan eating and serious athletic feats simultaneously.  The main point here? You can be vegan and ultra-buff and strong, too. If you need further proof, check out this video of Frank performing his crazy-strong calisthenics workout, and you’ll see that you don’t need to eat animal products to be a lean and green muscle machine.
