Australia, get ready! The all-vegan Beyond Burger from plant-based protein company, Beyond Meat, is making its way to the vegetarian fast food restaurant, Lord of the Fries in Melbourne, Australia. Lord of the Fries serves up vegetarian versions of hot dogs, burgers, chicken nuggets, chicken wings, and more, so it makes perfect sense that the ethical restaurant would want in on the juicy Beyond Burger.
The meat-like burger has 20 grams of plant-based pea protein per patty, and no soy, gluten, or GMOs. Due to the beets in the patty, the burger even appears to bleed when cooked! At Lord of the Fries, customers can order the burger in spicy or original styles, and the patty will come grilled topped with vegan cheese, lettuce, sliced onion, pickles, Belgian vegan mayo, mustard, and ketchup.
If the Beyond Burger’s success in the U.S. is any indication, the burger will sell like crazy at Lord of the Fries. Here in the U.S., family-friendly restaurant chain TGI Friday’s added the burger to their menu to meet the growing demand for plant-based foods. Not only that, but Tyson Foods has invested in the burger, as well as Leonardo DiCaprio! It also doesn’t hurt that Australia continues to hold their place as the third-fastest growing vegan market in the world.
The Beyond Burger’s expansion to Australia will further help thousands of people make healthier, sustainable choices when dining out. The future is indeed plant-based!
