Meet Tabitha and Titus! These twins were about to be sent to slaughter for the meat and dairy industry but instead took charge of their fate and worked together to escape. They have been attached by the hip ever since.
Tabitha is the little girl with more white on her face and was named after Tabitha Brown, a vegan social media personality with over 4 million followers on TikTok. Titus is the little boy and was named after Titus Andromendon from Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. These two fighters have survived so much already in their short lives and were given “these big, powerful names in hopes of imbuing them with strength for their bright futures,” the rescue said.
“Tabitha and Titus are still settling in and starting to discover new toys, treats, and friends! They’ve got long, happy lives ahead of them free of any human expectations, and we are just so elated that they’ll get to be together forever,” the rescue said in an update.
“Tabitha and Titus are rarely more than a foot away from each other, and when they are accidentally separated (generally because one of them has become curious about something they see) they immediately look for each other. These two are so lucky to be able to spend the rest of their lives together. If only they were all so lucky,” said Happy Compromise Farm.
When put side-by-side, the definition of what makes for a truly happy cow is readily apparent. Cows are sentient, intelligent, and emotional beings that experience pain and fear in life in a similar manner to humans. The life of a calf in the dairy and meat industry is vastly different from that of a cow who is allowed to experience life as nature intended.
This is a very happy story for Tabitha and Titus, as so many other cows meant for slaughter are not so lucky. Their brave escape shows just how much these creatures want to live and how cruel it is to raise them just for meat. These twins are now surrounded by animals and humans who love them like crazy!
