In the United States, there are about 70 million homeless cats and dogs living on the streets. With only six to eight million going through the shelter systems every year, you can understand why we have a serious dilemma on our hands. Unfortunately, this problem isn’t unique to the United States and is a pervasive issue throughout the world. Animals that are left on the street suffer greatly from hunger, illness, the elements, and at the hands of those who intend to do them hard.

Thankfully there are rescues, shelters, and good people out there that want to help those that cannot help themselves. And for you Green Monster, there are many ways that you can help to end pet homelessness. One way is to support local spay and neuter programs, another way is to adopt companions like Pauline.

Pauline was found on the streets of a small city in Greece with the lower half of one leg missing. As you can see from these photos, she was in need of some help and a lot of TLC.

It’s unclear how Pauline came to lose part of her limb, but regardless of the circumstances, this sweet gal was saved. Her rescuers brought her from the streets of Greece to a home in Canada to start her new life!

Her caretakers describe her as sweet and gentle. Here you can see her during her layover at a doggy hotel. What a well-traveled gal! Bravo, Pauline!

Once in Canada, she settled right in! She looks right at home and if we may say, pretty darn cozy in her new dog bed!

Soon, sweet Pauline will be fitted for a new prosthetic leg.

Until then, it’s all smiles and play for this sweet girl in her new Canadian home! It looks like she’ll have a great life from now on!
