Earlier this month, a shocking discovery was made by pet guardian Lisa Walker from Bristol in the U.K. The woman found her beloved cat Tiger-Lily dead in the animal’s own bed in her garage. But the death of the cherished friend turned out to be, without a shadow of a doubt, a far more serious case than a wild animal attack or an unfortunate accident. The 13-year-old tabby was discovered with a plastic device wrapped tightly around her neck. It was obvious that the animal was deliberately choked to death – the question remains, who did it and how can they be brought to justice as soon as possible?
Walker, heartbroken by the loss of the cat, is sure that the brutal act was committed intentionally by someone who wished to seriously harm the innocent animal, Express.co.uk reports. “Some evil, vile, and nasty person has killed our beautiful cat,” Tiger-Lily’s guardian said.
According to Walker, the cable around the cat’s neck was pulled so tight that it was impossible to get scissors underneath it, and it had to be cut off with dog’s nail clippers. The guardian believes that Tiger-Lily was killed between 1 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. The cat must have also managed to make her way into the garage and her bed only after she was abused, since the garage was locked, with only a cat flap open in the door.
“I find it so hard to believe that there are people out there that can do this to a defenseless animal,” Walked said.
The loss of the much-loved cat was a blow to Walker who emphasizes that, although technically a senior, Tiger-Lily still behaved like a young cat and had a lot of energy and will to live. But Walker is not giving up on the case. “I was unable to post this yesterday as we were too upset, but today we’re angry,” she wrote on her Facebook page and is now warning others to be alert.
Anybody with any information regarding the case and the person responsible for the death of the cat is urged to contact the RSPCA’s cruelty line at 0300 1234 999.
This alarming case of cruelty is unfortunately just one of many, and it is vitally important to do everything to identify the person who committed the crime and killed the animal – in order to get justice for the abused cat and her guardian and to send a clear message to other abusers that this kind of severely cruel deed must and will be punished.
