On Sept. 28 of this year, animal sanctuary volunteers at Edgar’s Mission in Victoria, Australia, were overjoyed with their recent rescue of three runaway pigs, named Wonder Woman, Captain Courageous, and Super Girl, who were originally destined to be slaughtered for human consumption or meet their ends at “the barrel of a gun,” the organization reports on its blog.

But to their surprise, they did not end up rescuing just three pigs — they actually rescued eleven!

Wonder Woman, now known as Mumma Pig, began packing on the pounds soon after she arrived, and following a vet visit, it was officially confirmed: she was pregnant!

She soon gave birth to “eight precious, happy, and healthy little piglets,” Edgar’s Mission writes.

Can you guess their names?

Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donder, and Blitzen! Just in time for Christmas!

Unlike so many other piglets in our industrialized food system, these eight babies will not know the same suffering and cruelty. Instead, they will receive the life any sentient being deserves: one of freedom, comfort and love.
