Guardians of Rescue is raising funds for a dog who was brutally tossed from a moving truck and left with two broken front legs. The puppy, named Roo, is just six months old, but he has already experienced such unthinkable cruelty during his life. Thankfully, he was rescued by Redland Rock Pit Abandoned Dogs Project whose team contacted the Guardians of Rescue members for help.
At the moment, Roo is at a veterinary office, awaiting orthopedic surgery. During the operation, his legs will be re-broken, properly set, and pinned for healing.
The puppy cannot walk and must sit upright to avoid extreme pain. He needs the surgery as soon as possible so that he can begin his recovery and have a chance at a normal life.
Roo was thrown out of the car and left for dead in the Redlands area of Miami-Dade County, an agricultural area which, as the rescuers point out, is considered to be a common dumping ground for unwanted animals. Over the years, thousands of animals have been abandoned in the area and Roo is now sadly one of them.
The rescue has secured a discounted rate of $3,000 for the surgery that will allow the puppy to walk again and is now seeking donations to help Roo – who is also up for adoption. Hopefully, he will soon be able to find the best home and most loving new family possible.
