Everyone loves dogs, cats, and other furry (or feathered) friends and yet, pet homelessness is still a huge problem in the United States. Every year an estimated 2.7 million animals are euthanized in shelters. That means that every 11 seconds . . . an animal is killed.

Sadly, the U.S. isn’t the only country with a pet homelessness issue. After the nation’s financial collapse, pet homelessness skyrocketed in Greece. While some locals are doing their best to help these animals, the economic conditions make this extremely difficult.

The puppies you have been watching were rescued from a mountainside in Greece. Ezra and his brothers were tossed away like so many other animals in Greece. Thankfully, a passerby heard the brothers’ whimpers, gathered the pups into his truck, and took them to a Save a Greek Stray shelter.

Don’t leave puppies like Ezra to fend for themselves. Go to Save A Greek Stray’s website to donate and help to care for Ezra while he waits for a new home. find him a loving home and many others like him. If you want to help on the home front and address animal homelessness in your community, visit your local shelter and adopt an animal in need.
