Californians have been able to enjoy Locali’s infamous “Baaadasss Breakfast Sandwich” ever since the healthy-eating deli opened in 2009, with their first location in Hollywood and second in Venice in 2014. The mouth-watering sandwich includes a vegan sausage patty, vegan soy-free cheddar, chipotle sauce, and maple syrup on a sprouted grain English Muffin. Yep, it’s as good as it sounds.

But we have some exciting news for those of us who don’t live in the Golden State … the vegan-friendly quick service market is expanding! Locali has launched a franchise effort with Fransmart, a company that specializes in restaurant franchise development. While not all of Locali’s offerings are vegan, they specify on their menu that all of their items can be made vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free. Sounds like a great choice for people who are looking to leave meat and dairy off their plates!

Now California will have to share Locali’s signature item, the “Baaadasss Breakfast Sandwich” We’re not drooling, you’re drooling.

Besides Locali locations in Hollywood and Venice, there is also similar side-concept, Localita and The Badasserie, with a location in downtown Los Angeles. But now a new Locali is opening up at 8730 Santa Monica Boulevard, as well as a Localita & The Badasserie possibly coming to York Boulevard in Highland Park by 2018. We’re  so ready to try this Keenwow Wrap!

And this vegan Reuben sandwich? Gimme!

And this vegan breakfast burrito named LA’s Top 5 Breakfast Burritos by CBS News… Let’s do it.

Fransmart has plans for national (and maybe even international!) expansion with healthy market chain Locali. And as Eater Los Angeles points out, with the deli’s low-footprint, healthy ethos and quick-service, Locali could soon become a household name.

Recent studies have shown that around one-third of Americans are choosing to leave meat off their plates more frequently and a 2015 survey by market analyst Mintel found that 61 percent of consumers say they enjoy menu items that heavily feature vegetables. With West-Coast chain Veggie Grill also expanding nationwide, it sounds like Locali is giving consumers exactly what they want!

We are so glad to see more plant-based options making their way nationwide, showing yet again that the future of food is indeed plant-based. This new shift not only caters to vegans, it also provides healthy options for those who want to reduce their consumption of animal products, whether it be for health, environmental, or animal welfare reasons.
