Okay, so as an animal, it can be difficult sometimes to face the fact that we do not have a voice that we can use to verbally articulate our thoughts on anything. Whether we want to express how we feel about how we’re being treated or need to ask for help when we’re lost, sick or injured OR most importantly want to explain to the human world that we are not so gosh-darn different from them and, therefore, deserve even the most BASIC allowances of respect and care – the reality is that we do NOT have this ability.
On the other hand, people do have this ability. And shockingly, they don’t even seem to really realize what a huge deal and privilege it is to be able to speak and use their voices to rally others for a cause. In fact, sometimes I think that people abuse their ability to speak. Sure I could run through a whole list of things I’ve heard humans say that make my eyes roll back to last summer, but the most recent remarks being made by Donald Trump are … well … to use his own words, HUGELY unsettling.
Seriously, every time he opens his mouth, I’m like…
It’s like really dude, just because you have WAY to many platforms on which to voice your opinions, doesn’t mean that you should. Especially when the stuff you’re saying is just downright doggy business.
Sir, don’t you recognize that you have a voice and people listen to you … for some reason. That in itself is an incredible opportunity that you COULD take to speak out about something like, I don’t know, the status of pet homelessness in the U.S., or how our food system is destroying the planet and leaving millions of people hungry. Seriously, there is so much important stuff to talk about! If you ask me, until some form of decent dialogue comes out of his mouth, this Bald Eagle should sit next to him to set him straight.
“If you don’t have anything nice … or smart … or moderately articulate … to say, don’t say anything at all!”
What do you think, Green Monsters? We can all probably agree that if a dog was running for President, things would be going a whole lot better. At least, dogs love all people unconditionally…
