An all-vegan Italian restaurant?! It’s a thing in Brooklyn, New York! Fermento opened not too long ago in a hip Brooklyn neighborhood and they are blowing our minds with their yummy dishes.
Fermento offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as coffee and juices. We are drooling HARD over this panini!
Their menu also includes healthy salads, all-vegan croissants, toast, and lasagna!
The owner of Fermento, Benedetto Cantarella, formed relationships with local farmers and food vendors in an effort to be as sustainable as possible.
Fermento comes from the Latin word “fervere” meaning to be in motion. “The idea behind Fermento is to bring together the people or things who have a restless spirit or a desire to change and innovate,” the restaurant states on their website.
This new restaurant is showing that any type of cuisine can be made plant-based – and it’s a great business move considering around 40 percent of Americans order plant-based options while eating out, and overall demand for plant-based foods is up 140 percent! Considering this is a much better choice for the environment, animals – and definitely people – you can feel even better about digging in to some awesome vegan Italian food.
