Hotel Launches Animal Mindfulness Program

A hotel in the Lake District has launched an animal mindfulness program to reduce stress for its visitors. Animals are known to be able to reduce stress, and many places already use animals in their wellness programs. You can do yoga with puppies or goats, visit cat cafes, and many others.

Now, Armathwaite Hall Hotel & Spa in the Lake District has begun a ‘mindfulness with animals’ wellness package for their guests. The hotel says that the experience helps guests form a deeper connection with nature as they are guided through a flow of mindful invitations to engage with the world around them.

During the program, participants will first take a morning forest bathing, followed by an afternoon tea, and finally, guests will walk around Deer Park to Lake District Wildlife Park, which is home to hundreds of domestic and endangered animals. Guests are not allowed to make any physical contact with the animals but only observe. The guests will watch and identify ‘life lessons’ from the animals around them. The guests will also hear from the Lake District Wildlife Park’s education and animal Conservation officer about how the animals are supported.

Although it is not clear if these animals are rescued and cannot return to the wild, we appreciate that guests are not allowed to interact with the animals. We hope that these are all rescued animals who are living a better life than they were in the past.
