We are so glad someone spotted this adorable German Shepherd and called Hope for Paws. It seemed the dog had wandered into an industrial lot and got herself trapped once it closed. Neighbors reported that the lot wasn’t used frequently so it could have been days before someone returned. Lisa Arturo and JoAnn Wiltz headed out to rescue the needy pup.
It wasn’t until they arrived that they realized there was no way out – at least for a dog her size. They made a call to the property owner who agreed to meet them the next day. In the meantime, they left the Shepherd with food, water, and a promise to return the following day.
Once Lisa and JoAnn were let into the fenced lot, they got a closer look at the dog’s condition. Besides being dehydrated and hungry, this poor girl had a severe wound on her neck and was limping. They lured her into a crate, as not to further hurt her neck, and named her Elsa.
They immediately transported her to the vet for medical care where they discovered the neck wound was the result of an embedded collar. Additionally, sweet Elsa had a broken foot. There is no way of knowing what happened to this poor baby, but her life was about to get a whole lot better! After a bath and medical treatment, Elsa continued on to Wags n’ Walks where she is having an absolute blast!
As you can see, Elsa is the happiest, healthiest, and sweetest girl ever! To help find her the safe, loving forever home she deserves, share this video with your network. To learn more or donate to Hope for Paws, click here!
